Our Home

Our home is located on the edge of the ancient market town of Petworth, nestled on an elevated site within open farmland enjoying beautiful views across to the South Downs.
The home is arranged with up to 32 private rooms in three main areas: the Byworth Wing and two floors in the Petworth Wing.

There are three communal lounges & dining areas with views to the Downs and Petworth. A recently refurbished kitchen provides a range of home cooked meals, with residents receiving a daily menu from which to choose and our home is surrounded by a beautiful garden of lawns and borders which can be enjoyed all year round.

Our Rooms

Many of the rooms take in the uninterrupted view over the south downs. These are especially lovely in the evening as the sun is setting. The rooms to the rear and side of the Cottage enjoy garden views and the rising sun.

All rooms are well equipped to ensure needs are met. The equipment includes profiling nursing beds with specialised mattresses. Where required riser and recliner chairs are supplied. All rooms are supplied with a television, have facilities for a telephone and access to the in house wifi.

It is important that our residents feel at home. All are invited to take small pieces of furniture, pictures or other items which help to make the room their own.

Most rooms have en-suite facilities, or there is a communal toilet/bathroom nearby.

Food Glorious Food

Home cooked meals are prepared in our kitchen by our cooks, our choice of meal options is designed to ensure as much variety as possible, and that residents’ favourite dishes and special diets are catered for. Where residents eat is their choice: their own room, the dining room or one of the lounges.

Our kitchen facilities were rated 5 on the latest Food Hygiene inspection Chichester District Council Food Hygiene Inspection Dec 2024 – Petworth Cottage Nursing Home. Our catering team are fully trained on IDDSI (International Dysphasia Diet Standardisation Initiative – https://www.iddsi.org/) levels and prepare meals accordingly where required.
