We conduct an annual review of our fees in December and notify residents of any increase in that month, with that increase taking effect at the end of January in the following year. We will only increase fees insofar as absolutely necessary to cover the ever-increasing costs with which we are all unfortunately so familiar. As a not-for-profit home, we will never increase costs with a view to making money.
Everything except personal items that a resident may wish to use.
The charity will top up fees depending on each person’s personal circumstances. Once again, our Registered Manager, Yvonne Stout, would be happy to discuss funding possibilities with you.

If this does not cover the full amount of the weekly fee, the residual fee will remain payable either by the resident or their third party contributor. Should funding be withdrawn, the resident and/or their third party contributor will be liable for the full cost of the weekly fee.
Petworth Cottage is a pet friendly home and where possible we encourage residents’ pets to visit the home. Unfortunately, we are unable to support pets living in the home full time.
Yes. Whilst the size of residents’ rooms necessarily limits the amount, we encourage residents to bring with them a few personal items to enhance their stay.
We actively encourage our residents to maintain the social contact they enjoyed before moving to Petworth Cottage. We will assist residents with practical ways to maintain contact if requested.
We have an open visiting policy and family, and friends are welcome at any time. With prior notice, family and friends are welcome to stay for a meal. We also welcome family and friends to stay overnight if a resident’s general condition is changing and approaching the end of life.
We also facilitate virtual visits with the use of iPads. Residents can also have a phone line fitted in their room.
Yes – see the Food Glorious Food section
Residents may attend religious services either within or outside the Home in accordance with their chosen faith.
We respect the rights of those residents who have no religious / nominated faith preference but still require support to maintain their spiritual needs. These will be explored through assessment and sharing of information and our aim will be to support their chosen route to express their spirituality where possible.
If you can no longer afford the fees Petworth Cottage will not ask you leave the home. When Petworth Cottage can provide the right care, this is for as long as required, even if your financial situation changes. If this happens we discuss with you how your care will continue to be funded and the possible sources of support.
