A highly qualified team of registered nurses, qualified care assistants, an activities co-ordinator along with our house team, kitchen team, garden team and volunteers make up our caring home team.
We have purposefully not established a fixed staffing notice for our home as we believe that residents’ care needs fluctuate, and staffing levels today may not suit their needs tomorrow.
We appreciate that the delivery of a high standard of care and support to our residents is dependent not only on good recruitment procedures but also on the ongoing support and training of staff. Our staff receive ongoing mandatory training and are encouraged to participate in training to further enhance their knowledge and practice, thus underpinning the care our residents receive. These courses include, but are not limited to, Advanced communication skills, Advanced Care Planning, Care of those with long term conditions, Frailty, Digital Tools.
With our team of experienced staff including Registered Nurses, qualified care assistants, activities lead with mobility and prevention of falls training, and a variety of other experienced support staff, we aim to provide a resident focussed and individualised plan and delivery of care, in a supportive and non-restrictive environment.
Equally critical to the wellbeing and comfort of our residents is the support provided by our chefs and kitchen staff, housekeepers, cleaners, laundry assistant, facilities manager, finance manager and administration staff.
Our local volunteers come into the home every day to provide residents with coffee in the mornings and tea and cakes in the afternoon. On a weekly basis they provide flowers in the public areas of the home as well as caring for flowers and plants in the residents’ rooms, thus creating a homely atmosphere enjoyed by both residents and staff.
The home is governed by a Board of 10 trustees since 1996 currently chaired by Chris Hubbard. The background of the trustees is varied: medical, finance, legal and industry. The Board meets formally six times a year, but many of the trustees are regularly at the home ensuring a close knowledge of and attention to the day-to-day running of the home.
