Afternoon Tea with a Little Extra Warmth

Every weekday, one or two of our wonderful volunteers arrive to serve afternoon tea and cake to our residents. But with every cup poured, there’s more than just tea being shared.
It’s a moment to connect—whether it’s catching up with volunteers (some of whom have been with us for over 26 years!), chatting about family and visitors, or hearing the latest from Petworth and the surrounding villages.

A Touch of Nature, a Lot of Joy

Each week, a team of kind-hearted volunteers brings fresh, cut flowers into our home. Arranged with care in our flower room, these beautiful displays are shared throughout the house—bringing colour, scent, and smiles to residents and staff alike.
The flowers themselves are a joy, but it’s the volunteers—those who take time from their day to brighten someone else’s—that make this gesture truly special. For residents who may not be able to step into the garden or pick their own blooms, this is a deeply appreciated gift.

Our Cottage Garden

For the past two years, a dedicated team of skilled volunteers has been tending our raised beds and borders on the first Thursday of each month.
Led by Beth, our talented gardener, their care and creativity have transformed the grounds into something truly special. Thanks to their hard work, our garden now lives up to the name Petworth Cottage—a cottage garden in full bloom.
