Our recent Winter Fair was a great success, enjoyed by over 600 guests keen to browse the wide array of stalls on offer. We were treated to a beautiful day of sunshine which helped set the tone for a thoroughly enjoyable day in the countryside, with the idyllic Upwaltham Barns providing the setting.
The stallholders who arrived at the crack of dawn were met by a willing bunch of volunteers, fueled by the Bacon sandwiches prepared in the kitchen. The Petworth Cottage Friends and Winter Fair team worked en-masse to ensure the smooth running of the day, from manning the car park through to keeping the stallholders and patrons refreshed with a delightful spread of sandwiches and cakes.
Early indications suggest that the Fair raised over £14,000 for our Nursing Home, an invaluable figure that is greatly appreciated by all. The sum will go towards ensuring our residents are treated to the highest quality of care and comfort during their stay with us. Our upcoming project is an accessible summerhouse for our residents, furthering the outdoor facilities that we are able to offer.
